Help us pay the bills
If you can, we ask you to cover your own membership. Innitiatives of the same sort ask somewhere between 25-50 euro. If you are able to give more, that would be much appreciated. Your gift will help keeping our toy library services affordable to all. That said, we welcome all donations, no matter what the number.
As a non-profit organization we invest all of our income in the continuation and, if possible, extension of our services.

King Baudouin Foundation
The King Baudouin Foundation is collaborating on the project. Donations of 40 euros or more made to the King Baudouin Foundation, are entitled to a tax deduction of 45% on the amount effectively transferred and this is recorded on the tax certificate issued by the King Baudouin Foundation.
You can easily make a donation to the project account of Okapi, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation using the form on their website.
Do you prefer a normal bank transfer? Make a donation to IBAN BE10 0000 0000 0404 BIC BP0TBEB1, bank account of the King Baudouin Foundation, marking your transfer with the details of the structured communication “623/3702/50022”.
Other payment methods
Also a small deposit is very welcome to us. If you don’t required a tax reduction, you can use our own donations form which offers several payment methods or make a bank transfer directly to our bank account number: BE09 7310 5426 0357. This is the only one without transaction costs is.
Buy a donated toy
Help us pay the bills and get a toy in return! Some perfectly fine donated toys cannot be added to the shared collection. Those toys are sold through our web shop at reasonable prices. Generally, we apply a 60% discount from the new value. Our main goal is to give these toys a second life. At the same time, the generated income supports our work. All toys are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Defects are clearly indicated.
Want to welcome one of these toys in your home? You can browse our catalogue to see what we currently have in store. Toys can be collected at the indicated collection points or send to your address for an additional fee.
Volunteer
We are currently looking for people that can help us with:
- Would you like to spread the Okapi love through TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter? We need Okapi Toy Library enthusiasts with a creative mind to pass the spark so that many more will find the joy in sharing toys. You could provide the community with regular updates or drive a social media campaign. If you have ideas, we love to hear them. Please contact us to discuss your interests and time.
- Estimated volunteering time: 2h/week.
- You will experience the joy of handing over new toys first hand in this rewarding volunteering job. As a collection host you are part of the beating heart of our Okapi Toy Library. Your task is simple yet of utmost importance: getting toys to and from our members, and multiply smiles on the way. If you are interested, please contact us to discuss your availability.
- Estimated volunteering time: from 2h/week, regular availability required.
- Dive into the treasure room of the Okapi Toy Library and find ‘the chosen ones’. The Okapi minions check and pack all treasures carefully for transport. If you can lend us a hand, please contact us to see what times would work for you.
- Estimated volunteering time: from 1h/week, times are flexible.
- Help us identify and obtain funding from government, companies and individuals. You could quietly work on grant proposals or compelling letters to convince others to support our work, or make a lot of noise with a fundraising campaign to increase donations. This diverse volunteering job has something for everyone. Please contact us to discuss your interests and time.
- Estimated volunteering time: from 4h/month.
- Okapi Toy library partners up with several organizations in order to best serve our community (e.g. libraries, youth houses, child care centers, delivery companies). If you are a social bee interested in initiating and managing such activities we love to hear from you! Please contact us.

If you run an independent toy library, you could consider joining the Okapi network of toy libraries. We can take care of all those other things (online lend engine, member registration, website, social media, fundraising, …), while you can concentrate on lending out toys.
